New words and such

Alex's language is exploding lately! Some things he still says the same way that he said them 6 months ago, while most of his new words coming are out are very clear.

Last week while we were up north, I was standing in line getting us ice cream while Josh and Alex stayed in the car. Alex started saying what is now a common discussion he has with himself: "Mama getting ice cream. Yeah? okay!" This is obviously from when we're trying to get him to agree to something or to check if we've heard him correctly. He now says this phrase anytime he wants something.

He also will just repeat a whole question instead of actually answering the question. When crossing the street we'll stop to look for cars and I'll ask him, are there any cars coming? He'll say Cars coming? I'll ask yes or no? and he'll answer Yes or no? lol

He's getting to be VERY bossy. "Alex do it. Daddy clap! Come on momma. Over there! (as in stay over there so he can do something himself), Stop it daddy, Go away, Don't do that!," and today.. "Are you listening to me?" He also is becoming more independent, walking down stairs and telling us to stay away, climbing into his booster seat and carseat all by himself (which is great for me), and trying to get undressed by himself although he still needs help.

We are not pushing potty training yet for a number of reasons, but he does sit on the potty 1-2 times a day at home by his own request. We've yet to have any production so far though.

Lastly, his tantrums are *interesting.* If there's anyone reading out there that's heard of other kids doing this, comment, b/c I've never heard of kids doing this and it seems everyone else is surprised too. Anyway, Alex will be in full melt-down mode and sobbing. We'll keep telling him, when he's all done crying, we'll talk to him, or we'll go outside, etc. Well, he will be in the middle of screaming his little head off and barely catch his breath enough to say "all done crying" and that's it...he's done. It's so weird and just makes me believe that he fully knows what he's doing and is in control of what he's doing vs. thinking that he's just too overwhelmed to control himself. I'd say most, if not all of his tantrums end this way. He says he's done and it's like night and day.
